Kids LIFE Program
A tradition of loving and caring for homeless children.
The largest homeless shelter in North Texas, Dallas LIFE reaches out to homeless men, women and children with food, clothing, shelter, education and long-term rehabilitation and support programs. Founded on faith-based principals and spiritual teachings, it is the only shelter in North Texas that allows families to stay together on a long-term basis.
The Crystal Charity Ball funds will be used to help meet the needs of homeless children. The face of homelessness in Dallas has changed. Family homelessness has grown by 60% in recent years. In addition to meeting the basic daily needs of children living at the shelter, the Kids LIFE program surrounds children with a full support system so they are able to continue to grow and learn, go to school, have friends and participate in activities that are educational, enriching, and fun. Funds will be used to provide the on-going costs of care for basic children’s services for one year; to expand children’s programming; to renovate the children’s activity area and restroom facilities for families; and to increase the endowment fund. Approximately 535 children ages birth to 18 will be served.
